As his brother I might be slightly biased, but Matthias has helped me grow a lot.
Not only in terms of training, with his help I’ve changed my view on health. It’s pretty easy to google up a set of training sessions and a meal plan to go with it, but what his coaching brings is a lot more.
First is an understanding of food, training and health. But most importantly the combination and how they all work together to give you a healthy active life, which you can still enjoy. Matthias has realized that each person wants something different out of life, and he will help you reach that. Teach you the skills necessary to live a healthy life the way you want it to.
I’m a sucker for food, there’s no denying that. In the past that led to me overeating, and usually eating very bad types of food. In my teens I was active, and moms’ home-cooked food kept me in a good enough shape. As I moved out, I started eating worse, opting for fast food and I was training less. At my worst I was somewhere around 115kg.
When I first asked for help from my brother. I was expecting a pretty tough diet, hard training to get into shape and lose weight quickly. But as I started out on my journey, I realized that’s not what fits me. I still like to enjoy myself, grab some drinks every now and then. I could be working out 6 times a week and I would’ve been in great shape by now. But that’s now how I want to live my life. 2-3 sometimes 4 times a week is plenty enough for me and will get me to where I want to be in life.
From when I first started, about a year and a half ago. I’ve been getting in better and better shape, slowly losing weight. It’s not a quick fix, but here’s the kicker. I’ve been enjoying every part of it, I’ve still been enjoying my life, I’ve still been getting better and better each day. I’m only losing 0.2-0.4kg every week but that’s what works for me.
I’ve changed my view of training and health, a few small adjustments to my eating and training habits have led to a life where I’m getting where I want to be albeit slowly, but I’m loving every part of.
I’m now much more active, I feel healthier but at the same time it doesn’t feel like I’ve sacrificed a lot. I can still go out with friends, have that juicy feast every now and then, all the while I’m progressing my body and my overall health.
Matthias helps me define how I want to live to have an active and healthy life where I can still enjoy the good things in life that I want too, and I can’t thank him enough for that.
